PSC, MisOcc gov’t partnering for more improved sports program

The Misamis Occidental provincial government and the Philippine Sports Commission are partnering to push for a more improved sports program in the province.

This developed after PSC chairperson Richard Bachmann paid a courtesy visit to Misamis Occidental Governor Henry S. Oaminal on Tuesday, January 23.

Both officials discussed future collaborations on major sports programs between local government units and the PSC.

PSC Chairman Bachmann expressed gratitude to MisOcc LGU for warmly welcoming sports officials in the province.

Bachmann conveyed PSC's plan to further expand and boost sports initiatives in Mindanao.

He added that the PSC is also committed to helping improve the facilities in the province

“I’m trying to regionalize training facilities and training of our national athletes because kids of today when they come to Manila after two months, no family support, they wanna go back to the provinces so it makes sense to Agri-hub LGUs or probinsya that I can identify training facilities that can national players can just train there and we’ll train their coaches, athletes,” Bachmann said during his visit.

For his part, Gov. Oaminal said his administration is fully committed to providing necessary assistance to future athletes while continue promoting sports development in the province.

The province allocated funds for sports training of athletes, equipment, and facilities. (SN/PGMO)
