OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental—The provincial government of Misamis Occidental will soon conduct its annual “Kasalan sa Kapitolyo” or mass wedding with Senator Francis N. Tolentino gracing the event scheduled on Nov. 8 in Bay Front Arena, Oroquieta City.

The annual mass wedding is fully sponsored by the provincial government with each newlywed will also get a free wedding cake and P20,000 cash gifts.

This year’s “Kasalan sa Kapitolyo” is set to be participated by 201 couples across the province. Ozamiz City Archbishop Martin Jumoad will officiate the mass wedding.

Also, included in the province’s sponsorship will be the prenuptial photoshoot package; P2,500 worth of wedding dress and suit or tux rental per couple; and P1,600 worth of hair and makeup during prenuptial and wedding day; as well as the bridal bouquet.

The provincial government noted that the “Kasalan sa Kapitolyo” will be among the highlights of the Misamis Occidental’s 94th founding anniversary.

This serves as one of the legacy programs of Governor Henry Oaminal for the Misamisnons since he started his leadership stint in the province.

The governor’s initiation of "Kasalan sa Kapitolyo" primarily aims to legitimize the union of indigent unwed couples.

Other expected wedding attendees include Misamis Occidental Vice Governor Rowena “Wheng” Gutierrez, 2nd District Rep. Sancho Fernando Oaminal, First District Rep. Jason Almonte, mayors, board members, city and municipal vice mayors, councilors, and other officials of the province.

Gov. Oaminal hopes for a long-lasting relationship among the beneficiaries of the “Kasalan sa Kapitolyo.”(SN/PGMO)
