Ongoing Maldives-inspired infra project in MisOcc to boost tourism, local economy, says Oaminal

 


Misamis Occidental Gov. Henry S. Oaminal inspected the ongoing tourism infrastructure project at the Asenso Misamis Occidental Resort and Aquamarine Park in Barangay Libertad Bajo, Sinacaban town on January 21.

Governor Oaminal was accompanied by Provincial Engineering Office head, Engr. Ophelia Gorre during the assessment of the project's progress.

The construction of the multi-billion worth of infra project, dubbed as the Maldives of Mindanao, was inspired from the famous foreign tourist attraction, the Maldives resort.

The project is aimed to boost the province's tourism industry. It is also expected to spur economic activities and more income opportunities in Misamis Occidental.

Gov. Oaminal said the province targets to increase tourist influx, at the same time, attract more investors to  increase employment opportunities for Misamisnons and generate higher provincial revenues.

“A united Misamis Occidental and Misamis Occidental that will strive to bring progress, to alleviate poverty and to bring economic benefits to the province,” he said.

The 49-hectares coastal forested area features various amenities, including 4-storey hotels and cottages, inland villas, playground, inland villas with Jacuzzi, clubhouse, wildlife, fish feeding, fish pond, mangrove villas, midpoint rest cafe, spa village, restaurant by the sea, coastal villas with swimming pool, golf clubhouse, convention center, camping sites, nature trails, bird sanctuary, aquaculture, vegetable plantation, chapel and others.

It is among the provincial government's flagship projects realized under the leadership of Gov. Oaminal in line with his administration's Asenso vision to make Misamis Occidental a tourism destination and become an investment hub for Mindanao. (SN/PGMO)
