Sen. Imee Marcos leads AICS distribution in Ozamiz City
OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental--Senator Imee Marcos
together with Ozamiz Mayor Henry “Indy” Oaminal Jr. and City Councilors led the
distribution to some 2,000 beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in
Crisis Situation (AICS) program in a payout activity conducted December 14 at
the Ozamiz City Gym.
The beneficiaries, who received Php3,000 each, are public
mall vendors, persons who use drugs (PWUDs), Persons with Disabilities (PWDs),
economically affected volunteer workers, and fire victims from Brgy. Bacolod
and Lam-an, Ozamiz City.
Over Php6 million in financial aid was released to the
beneficiaries during the payout.
In her message during the distribution, Marcos said the
beneficiaries are the families that were greatly affected by the pandemic, and
after the pandemic, prices of prime commodities also increased.
“Families were greatly affected by the pandemic in the last
two years. After the pandemic, prices of prime commodities also increased,
added burdens to us,” she said.
She added that the release of the AICS assistance, through
the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), will aid families who
are in financial difficulties as a result of the increase in the prices of fuel
and other basic commodities.
Marcos also thanked Ozamiznons and Misamisnons for their
overwhelming support during the election time of his father Ferdinand Marcos
Sr. up to her time and the latest Presidential election of his brother
“Bongbong” Marcos during the last May 9 national elections.
Governor Henry S. Oaminal and City Mayor Indy Oaminal
thanked Senator Marcos for the continued support of the provincial government
and city government and for personally gracing the said activity.
AICS is one of DSWD’s services that provide medical
assistance, burial, transportation, education, food, or financial assistance
for other support services or needs of a person or family, including those who
are in the vulnerable sector or victims of calamities
This AICS payout is an initiative of the provincial
