Misamis Occidental government begins distribution of Pamaskong Handog 2023

OROQUIETA, Misamis Occidental---In the spirit of the annual festivity and a gesture of love to people, Misamis Occidental Governor Henry Oaminal launched the distribution of this year’s Pamaskong Handog 2023 on Sunday, December 10 here in the province.

For the first time the local chief executive, new barangay captains, and Sangguniang Kabataan chairpersons have converged, in a joint activity, at the Asenso Misamis Occidental Farmers and Cultural Center, to spread the spirit of this year’s nativity.

Beneficiaries received food packs—containing spaghetti pasta and sauce, corned beef, luncheon meat, and Vienna sausage— as well as T-shirts, and cash gifts from the provincial government, provided through Gov. Oaminal, congressmen, and other local government units.

Gov. Oaminal stressed the significance of government provisions such as pamaskong handog that can uplift the living conditions of the  Misamisnon families and allow them to have a bountiful holiday celebration.

“Niining maong Christmas season, simbolo kini sa akong pagmahal kaninyo nga sa atong pamaskong handog atong ipaabot sa mga katawhan ang diwa sa pasko,” Gov. Oaminal said.

Pamaskong handog has been part of the programs of Governor Oaminal since he was Congressman in 2013.

Gov. Oaminal vowed to establish a “culture of fairness and good governance” for the Misamisnon to receive better services they deserve.

The provincial government targets distributing more than 176,000 food packs to each family in the province.

The distribution is scheduled from Dec. 12 to 19, which will be done per barangay.

The Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental delivered early Christmas presents to barangay captains and SK Chairpersons as part of the Pamaskong Handog Program 2023.
