Gov Oaminal orders abrupt repatriation of students, following Marawi incident
Misamis Occidental Provincial Governor Henry S. Oaminal on
Sunday morning ordered the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office
(PDDRMO) under the command of Retired General Joseph Villanueva to closely coordinate with 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company
and local chief executives, in the repatriation of the around 131 Misamisnon
students enrolled in the Mindanao State University in their respective towns in
the province following the brazen bombing incident in Dec. 3 morning.
The Misamis Occidental PDRRMO immediately repatriated and
assisted the affected Misamisnon students by fetching them directly from the
MSU in Marawi City. The PGMO and local government units from Oroquieta City, Tangub City, and Sinacaban deployed vehicles and 2 ambulances in the area to transport them
from Marawi City back to their residences in Misamis Occidental.
Gov. Oaminal expressed empathy and was deeply saddened by
the unprecedented explosion of the improvised explosive device during the
Catholic Mass on the First Sunday of Advent.
The governor also condemned the heinous act of terror that
claimed four innocent lives, including one from Tangub City, and wounded more
than 50 civilians.
“I extend my most heartfelt condolences to the victims,
their loved ones, and the MSU community that have been the target of this
latest assault on peace. As of the latest update, of those wounded, four are
from our Province,” the government stated.
Hence, Gov. Oaminal vowed to provide support and assistance
to those affected Misamisnons by the tragedy.
“Rest assured that the Provincial Government of Misamis
Occidental in partnership with the Municipal and City Chief Executives are
committed to giving assistance and support to those affected by the bombing,”

The provincial government of Misamis Occidental mobilized a
vehicle to fetch students from the Mindanao State University Main Campus in
Marawi City, Lanao del Sur after the bombing incident in the area.
The Misamis Occidental provincial government headed by Governor Henry Oaminal through PDDRMO in close coordination with 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company and local chief executives, assisted 131 MSU students to return back to their respective towns in the province following the bombing incident in MSU Marawi on Sunday morning.
