Feature Story: A heart-wrenching tragedy: Asenso Admin swiftly responds to Daniel family's needs
MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL -- In the wake of the devastating bombing incident at Mindanao State University-Marawi on December 3 where numerous lives were claimed and others left injured, the Asenso administration led by Governor Henry Oaminal acted promptly to address the urgent needs of the grieving Daniel family.
The loss of Riza Ramos
Daniel, the wife of Edgar Daniel, has left the family in profound sorrow. The
sudden and bitter tragedy unfolded after the bombing at the MSU-Marawi campus,
which took the life of Riza and also injured their son, a student at Mindanao
State University who is being treated at Misamis University Medical Center.
Riza Ramos Daniel was one
of the four individuals who lost their lives in the bombing incident while
attending a holy mass at the Dimaporo Gymnasium.
Edgar Daniel expressed
that his world crashed upon learning about the fate of his wife and child,
especially the death of Riza, his lifelong partner. Riza Ramos Daniel had been
employed as a saleswoman at one of the stores on the MSU-Marawi campus for ten
years.
Edgar is grateful to
Tangub City Mayor Ben Canama and Governor Oaminal who provided immediate
assistance for transporting Riza's body back to Tangub City for burial.

tungod kay gumikan kaninyo ni abot dinhi ang patay nga lawas sa akong asawa ug
akong anak [I am thankful for the great support of our Governor Henry Oaminal
and Tangub Mayor Ben Canama because it was from you that the dead body of my
wife was been transport for burial and the continuation treatment of my child
at Misamis University Medical Center], he said.
Gov. Oaminal extended cash
aid worth P10,000 cash with flowers while Mayor Canama gave grocery items and
rice, financial assistance of Php 20,000 in cash, and shouldering the wake
expenses of Riza Daniel.
The province's leaders
have not only given immediate financial aid for the Daniel family's burial but
have also demonstrated unity and solidarity among the affected community.(SN/PGMO)
