2 MisOcc centenarians receive 200K cash gift from DSWD, Provincial Gov’t
MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL – Two centenarians in the province of
Misamis Occidental, Placida Dampor Agot from Brgy. Sumasap in Panaon and Adela
Claret Hipe from Barangay Northern Poblacion in Plaridel, each received a cash
gift of Php 200,000 pesos for reaching the remarkable age of 100 years old.
On December 5, representatives from the Provincial Social
Welfare Department and employees of the Department of Social Welfare and
Development (DSWD) congratulated the centenarians after visiting their homes.
The commendation came with a financial reward of 100,000
pesos from the national government through DSWD and an additional 100,000 pesos
from the provincial government through PSWDO.
This program, which is based on Republic Act No. 10868,
demonstrated the governor's dedication to honoring and appreciating the
significant contributions that senior citizens has made to society. The dual
cash gifts aim not only to honor their centennial milestone but also to assist
in meeting their basic needs, including healthcare, milk, food, diapers, and
more.
Governor Oaminal's act reflects his deep respect for human
life and acknowledges the importance of caring for the health and well-being of
the elderly.
The cash gifts, given as part of the social and health
services programs under the 5Ms Development Mantra of the Asenso
Administration, serve as a tangible sign of gratitude for their significant
role in the community.
Since Governor Oaminal assumed office in July 2022 as the
governor of the province of Misamis Occidental, twelve legitimate centenarians
in the province already received 100,000 pesos each as a cash gift for their
100th birthday celebration.
This award stands as evidence of the faithful service of
Governor Henry Oaminal and his administration's continuous efforts to promote
5Ms programs in the province. This commendable initiative serves as a beacon of
the governor's commitment to the welfare of the elderly and the ongoing
development of the community. (SN/PGMO)
