Fire victims in Baybay, Bonifacio get cash aid, relief goods

 


The provincial government of Misamis Occidental headed by Governor Henry S. Oaminal handed over cash aid and relief goods to fire victims in Barangay Baybay, Bonifacio town.

BONIFACIO, Misamis Occidental--About 19 families, consisting of 53 individuals, affected by the fire razed on 14 November in Barangay Baybay, Bonifacio Town have received immediate cash assistance from the provincial government of Misamis Occidental.

Board Member Tata Cebedo, representing Governor Henry S. Oaminal, led the distribution of financial aid to the fire victims on Thursday, 16 Nov., with each family getting cash amounting to P10,000. 

The fire victims were also provided with relief goods and potable water.

During his meeting with the fire-affected families, Cebedo reechoed Oaminal’s heartfelt sympathies to those who had lost their properties during the unprecedented event. 

He also reiterated the provincial government’s commitment and genuine care to the fire victims by providing them with initial intervention. 

Cebedo assured that another round of assistance would be provided to the fire victims until get back to their feet. 

Charlita Legazpe, one of the fire victims, expressed gratitude for the provincial government’s abrupt assistance.

“Gov, salamat kaayo kay bisag nasunogan mi, wala mi nimo pasagdi. Salamat kaayo sa tanan gov sa pinansyal nga gihatag nimo kanamo ug sa relief goods,” she said. 

Meanwhile, evacuated fire victims are currently staying at a daycare center in Barangay Baybay while other are being sheltered by their relatives or friends. (SN/PGMO)
