Misamis Occidental @94: Celebrating culture and heritage with Perangat Festival 2023

  Come and experience the astonishing celebration of the history of our rich culture and the dazzling heritage of our people here in Misamis Occidental.  The 94th founding anniversary of the Province of Misamis Occidental will be commemorated month of November coinciding with this year’s second  Perangat  Festival in Oroquieta City.  Perangat  is a Subanen term which means ‘Pag-asenso’ in Tagalog term or progression.  The  ‘Perangat’  Festival (Feast of Progression) is the province’s annual celebration of the Subanen Tribe’s rich way of life, cultural beliefs, and traditions. ‘Kontra Bigay program in MisOcc’ successful, says Gov Oaminal

  MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL--The provincial government of Misamis Occidental on Monday announced the success of its ‘Kontra Bigay’ program throughout the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections campaign period. In an interview over the local radio station DXDD, Misamis Occidental Governor Henry Oaminal said that 80 percent of local government units in the province have shown full support to the program. MisOcc gov’t compliant to OP’s order on Bonifacio mayoral post

  MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL--The provincial government of Misamis Occidental said it is honoring an order from the Office of the President stating the need to turn over the mayoral leadership in Bonifacio town. Following the receipt of the order, implemented by the   Department of Interior and Local Government, MisOcc Gov. Henry Oaminal on Wednesday immediately directed Bonifacio's acting mayor, Ricky Bulahan, to transfer his functions and duties back to the then-suspended mayor, Samson Dumanjug. In an interview, Bulahan said there was a smooth transition of the Mayor’s Office to Dumanjug. “A good servant is a good follower whatever the mandate of the government is they must follow, they must follow it,” he said. “As early this morning, ato gyud gidawat ang maong order sa kinasing-kasing gayud ug ato gyud nakita ang right nga opisina sa gobyerno nga maoy ng serve nato so with that effect willing ta nga mo sunod sa mandate under the rule of law sa atong pang gobyerno,” he added.

PNP eyes person, vehicle of interest on Gov Oaminal attack

OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental —Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Office (MOPPO) Provincial Director PCol. Dwight Monato said that they already have persons and vehicles of interest relating on bombing incident that transpired last October 15. “So far, the case is ongoing. We are in the process of investigating the case and we have persons of interest and vehicles of interest. This has been alarming to all police stations and all the PNP units province-wide,’’ he said. Director Monato reported the current update of the investigation, and crime scene map at 11:10pm, some distance away from Aya Hotel where the governor came from. Aya Hotel is located near the Clarin Business Center. In his report, he showed pictures of the actual blast site, positions of the convoy and location of the improvised explosive device (IED). Oaminal during its 50th Founding Anniversary held Oct. 18 at the 102nd Infantry (Igsoon) Brigade headquarter. In behalf of Misamis Occidental Governor/ LTC Oaminal PA (RES), PDRRMO Head, BGen. Joseph Villanueva (RET) received the Military Merit Medal for Gov. Oaminal meritorious achievement in performances of duty as an active reservist officer and concurrently serving as the Governor of Misamis Occidental.
